SolAire History

SolAire Homebuilders was founded in 1995 as a family owned, custom solar homebuilder in Central Oregon. They are proud to be the first Earth Advantage Certified builder in Central Oregon, a five star Founding Member of the Central Oregon Green Building Council, and an Energy Star Builder. SolAire was founded on the premise that energy efficient, passive solar homes can be designed and constructed to be aesthetically pleasing in appearance, affordable in price and low impact on the environment.

SolAire's commitment to green building is a way of life for the Mike and Cindi O'Neil, owners of SolAire. In fact, they even weave their philanthropy into their philosophy. Mike had a distinguished period as president of COBA, where under his leadership, the association nearly doubled in size as he fought for a substantial increase in awareness and action concerning sustainable construction practices. SolAire is also the title sponsor of the annual Salmon Run, the official kick off event for Riverfest, dedicated to bringing river and stream restoration and education.

SolAire has built a strong reputation, constructing over 200 homes in the last ten years. They recently hired seven new team members, and their current goal is to build approximately 50 new custom homes in Central Oregon over the next 12 months.
