Earth Advantage Platinum Certification combines the attributes of Gold-level certifications for Energy Efficiency, Healthier Indoor Air and Environmental and Water Efficiency in a home designed to perform significantly better than one built in accordance with standard construction practices.

Space Heating
- At the required efficiency level of the shell, integrated heating systems
  become more feasible. Earth Advantage requires that a high performance heating and cooling system be installed. The program is open to alternative space heating and cooling options. Please check with your Earth Advantage representative.
Five dedicated ENERGY STAR® fluorescent lighting fixtures
Pressure relief in each bedroom
Framing materials: Kiln-dried wood or equivalent (19% moisture content)
Formaldehyde-free insulation
Filtration system rated at MERV 12 or better
Central vacuum system exhausted to exterior of home (If carpet covers 60% or more of the living space)
Ultra-low or no-VOC paint for interior surfaces (50 grams or less per liter)
No- or Low-VOC sealers and adhesives (150 grams or less per liter)
Sealed or formaldehyde-free underlayment
Jobsite waste reduction plan must be developed and implemented
House must incorporate onsite filtration of roof drains
House must incorporate a minimum of four measures from the Indoor and Outdoor Water Measures section of the Earth Advantage Point Sheet
